We are seeking a motivated undergraduate intern to join the
general chemistry teaching/research laboratory in the Department of Chemistry,
with a portion of time spent collaborating with Hi-Profile, a
university-affiliated company producing sanitizers and detergents. The majority
of duties will be in the campus lab, under the supervision of the department’s
technical staff. This internship provides hands-on experience with routine
laboratory techniques, safety practices, and data analysis, with opportunities
to observe industry-relevant applications.

• Supporting ongoing research projects,
• Conducting routine analyses and learning to
  operate sophisticated equipment under the guidance of faculty, postgraduate
  students, technical and support staff.
• Cleaning and sterilizing glassware,
  organizing equipment, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
• Adhering to environmental, health, and
  safety practices, including proper handling and disposal of waste.
• Monitoring stock levels of chemicals and
  supplies, as well as ordering replacements.

• Studying towards a Bachelor of Science
  Honours Degree in Chemical Technology, a Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in
  Chemistry, or equivalent. 
• Should have completed level 2.2 of their
  program by December 2025. Successful applicants will be attached to the
  Chemistry Laboratory and Sanitizer Plant.
• Should send a curriculum vitae accompanied
  by level 1 and level 2 results for their degree program and an industrial
  attachment letter from their university.
