Bindura University of Science Education (BUSE) seeks a dynamic, results-oriented Quality Assurance (QA) Manager (SMP) to champion academic and administrative excellence. Reporting to the QA Director, this managerial role safeguards institutional integrity, strengthens accreditation outcomes, and embeds a culture of quality across academic and administrative functions. The successful candidate will develop and implement standardised policies, robust QA mechanisms, and best practices, collaborating with faculties and departments to drive continuous improvement in higher education delivery
Duties
The role is structured around four core pillars:
Standardisation Develop quality assurance frameworks and systems and coordinate their effective implementations.
Develop, implement, and maintain
standardised policies, procedures, and key performance indicators across the University.
Ensure consistency and uniformity in
academic and administrative processes to meet both internal and external regulatory requirements.
Quality Assurance Mechanisms
Design, oversee, and manage internal quality assurance systems, including regular audits, comprehensive surveys,
peer reviews, and performance dashboards.
Coordinate and manage external accreditation
and compliance reviews within regulatory bodies' requirements.
Identify and manage risks in academic
and operational processes, recommending and implementing effective mitigation strategies.
Best Practices and Capacity Building
Identify, document, and actively disseminate best practices in academic and administrative processes.
Conduct benchmarking exercises against
leading national and international universities and standards.
Lead capacity building initiatives,
training staff and faculty on QA policies, rubrics, and evaluation tools to promote a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
Reporting &Advisory
Prepare high-level executive reports, policy briefs, and strategic recommendations for senior leadership and management on all quality-related issues
Qualifications And Experience
A PhD in a relevant field, specifically
Monitoring and Evaluation or Policy Studies or Quality Assurance, or Education
(Curriculum Studies, Measurement, Assessment), or related Social
Sciences/Management fields.
Undergraduate and Masters degrees in
related fields are mandatory.
A minimum of five (5) years of
progressive work experience in a quality assurance or lectureship/management
role within a university or higher education setting.
Desirable Attributes(Added Advantage)
A formal QA qualification or
certification.
Proven experience in successfully
managing institutional accreditation processes.
