The Assistant Painter will be responsible for supporting painting
projects and maintenance tasks, including:

Spreading drop cloths and covering furniture
and fixtures to protect them during painting.

·                    
Preparing work areas, including erecting
scaffolding or setting up ladders for elevated work.

·                    
Preparing walls and other surfaces for
painting by scraping, sanding, and removing old paint.

·                    
Filling cracks and holes in surfaces with
appropriate materials.

·                    
Mixing paint and other materials to achieve
the desired colour and texture, following instructions.

·                    
Painting surfaces according to instructions
using various tools (brushes, rollers, spray guns).

·                    
Applying varnish and other finishing coats as required.

·                    
Adhering to all health and safety precautions
to ensure a safe working environment.

·                    
Contributing to the overall success of the
Services and Estates Department by performing other essential duties as
assigned.

·

Painter Class 3 or 4

·                    
Proof of having attended secondary education up to
Ordinary Level.

·                    
At least 2 years’ experience as an Assistant Painter

·                    
Experience in a tertiary institution would be an added advantage
